I was born in Westminster England, and started playing drums at the early age of 10, Studied at the Royal Ontario Conservatory of Music in Geulph Ontario Canada, throughout the early years I played with a band called Zodiac, and won several CML Festivals garnering trophys and festival ribbons. After living in Guelph for several years my family moved to Oakville Ontario, where I played drums in the White Oaks High Scool Jazz Band, this is where I realized that I wanted to do music as a carreer. After completing my High School diploma I moved on to Humber College to study music composition, arranging and performance. While attending Humber I played in several Jazz & R&B groups and met allot of great musicians who I've worked with for several years. After leaving college I moved to Toronto to pursue playing live, studio sessions and get into music production. Deryck Plays Yamaha Drums and Sabian Cymbals. |
