The APP2 - CMP Course I teach examines programmed rhythms, mix and master techniques used in electronic based musical styles such as Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, Soul, House and Drum & Bass music, using the Logic Pro music production software as the platform for instruction. Students use the EXS 24 software sampler to create sample playback banks. Students are taught specialized processing and dynamic plug-in software to mix, shape and mold their rhythmic productions and compositions for todays popular music.

Tutorial - Beat Mapping From An Audio Loop to Create A New Loop - Logic Pro

Select Configure Global Tracks under View

Check the Beat Mapping Box

The Arrow shows where to select Detect Transients, BAR 6 shows white lines displaying markers for each trasient in the audio region of the YELLOW Drum loop

Select the ESC Key on your Keyboard for your Tools and choose the scissors tool.

Move the Scissors over to the first Transient in the Audio Region, hold down option an click. This will cut up the Drum Loop by each Transient Marker.

Now you can move the audio sections around to create a new loop.
